The DOST-ASTI developed the PhilSensors (web and mobile applications) as a free Service.
This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website (“Site”), how we use it, the condition under which we may disclose it to others, and how we keep it secure. This privacy notice applies to PhilSensors, applications, services, or tools (“Services”) where this privacy notice is referenced, regardless of how you access or use them, including through mobile devices.
We value your rights to privacy and we are committed to protecting any personal information you directly provide to us. Our Privacy Policy governs your visit to philsensors.asti.dost.gov.ph, and explains how we collect, access, safeguard, and disclose relevant information that may result from your use of our Services.
In general, it is not imperative for you to provide any personal data when you use our Services. We use your data to analyze, support, and improve our Web and Mobile App as well as the services we offer for better user experience.
For a better experience while using our Services, PhilSensors may collect Personal Information when you interact with the app in ways that require it to gather information, such as if you install or browse on PhilSensors or otherwise communicate with us about the PhilSensors Services.
Depending on your use of our Services, we may collect some or all of the following non-personal data. We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Services to you, including:
Usage Data (“Usage Data”)
We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our website or when you access our website by or through any device.
This usage data may include information such as your computer’s IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
Location Data (“Location Data”)
We may use and store information about your location if you give us permission to do so. We use this data to provide features of our Service, to improve and customize it. You can enable or disable location services when you use our website at any time through your device settings.
Your location and usage data will be recorded to Google Firebase for analytics. The amount and type of information that PhilSensors gathers depend on the nature of the interaction. In each case, PhilSensors collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with PhilSensors.
Log Data (“Log Data”)
In the case of an error in the app whenever you use our Service, we collect data and information through third-party products on your phone called Log Data. Log Data may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly.
This Service does not contain links to other sites. Also, for more on this subject, we recommend you to be familiar with the Philippine Republic Act 10173 – Data Privacy Act of 2012.
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with any adverse information, please contact us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions.
Your data security is important to us, but the transmission over the Internet or any other electronic storage method is not 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
